What Web Browser Should You Be Using?

The top 5 used web browsers in the world are:

  1. Google Chrome
  2. Mozilla Firefox
  3. Internet Explorer
  4. Opera
  5. Safari

Many people ask what is the best web browser to use. It honestly depends on the individual user. However, Internet Explorer would definitely come in last place when it comes to performance. It is much slower than other web browsers, poses greater threats to privacy/security, and does not have as many features as other web browsers. Chrome and Firefox both allow you to add plug-ins. Plug-ins are programs or extensions that can be added to your browser that can make web use easier. Examples of plug ins are: plug-ins that let you save your passwords so you don’t have to type them in every time you visit a website that requires a log in. Another example is a plug-in that allows you to save videos that are playing on the current page. One factor that might make Chrome a little better than Firefox is the fact that it automatically upgrades itself and it’s plug-ins whereas, Firefox often asks you to upgrade your flash player or java. So all in all I think the most user friendly and fastest web browser would be Google Chrome.

If you are an Apple User, then you Apple Device will come with the web browser called Safari. It is exclusively for Apple devices but you can download another web browser to your device if you like. Safari is a great web browser so you don’t really have to change to another one. Also if you are a person that has Windows 10, it has a new upgraded version of Internet Explorer called Microsoft Edge. Since it is a brand new web browser on a brand new operating system, it has been known to have bugs. Over time Microsoft should be able to work out any kinks in the system.
