While we offer print books, patrons can also download digital magazines, books and audiobooks; stream music, movies and TV shows; track down your ancestors; access and use online study guides and practice tests for high school, college, career and ESL exams; check out wireless hotspots and movies in a variety of formats including preloaded Rokus; music CDs; and learn from our Great Courses series available in both audiobook and DVD formats. You can even check out trekking sticks and hammocks! Our patrons can enjoy a cup of coffee, use the Makerspace or study rooms, shop at our Friends Bookstore or take a hike on our beautiful trail.
Our programs offer the community the opportunity to take Chinese, Tai Chi or Belly Dance classes; enjoy concerts and poetry readings; to learn knitting, yoga, art, self-defense, finance, estate planning and all about Medicare – just to name a few!
Libraries are important cornerstones of a healthy community. The Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest provides our community with the opportunity to find jobs, learn how to market and expand your business, explore medical research, experience new ideas, and get lost in wonderful stories all while providing a gorgeous location for gathering. All of our programs, resources, and services are free and open to the public.
We are so excited to once again partner with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and offer free tickets for residents of Vestavia Hills to this season’s performances! Due to limited tickets, availability is limited to two tickets per person.
Tickets will be available the first day of each month for that month’s performance(s). Patrons must have a current library card, be 18 years or older, and tickets must be requested in person at the Adult Services Desk. Patrons may not request tickets for other cardholders.
