Friends of the library

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library is a non-profit group of citizens who work together to assist the Board of Trustees and the Library Director; to promote increased knowledge of the functions, resources, services and needs of the Library; to stimulate volunteer service; to encourage gifts and memorials for the Library; to help the Library procure funds for items that are not included in the regular budget and to sponsor cultural and related programs for the community.

Friends of the Library

Meetings

All are invited to enjoy fellowship and programs in the Community Room at 10 am on 4th Thursdays September through May (exceptions: November & December -- call library for dates). December and May luncheon meetings begin at 11 am.

Friends Bookstore

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library Used Book Store, located on the main floor, offers a large selection of fiction, non-fiction (cooking, travel, religion, textbooks, etc.), children's books, records, and paperbacks. Come in and browse!

All donations and proceeds of sales benefit the library.

Bookstore Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made directly to the bookstore.
Sunday  2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
   


FRIENDS MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

When you become a FRIEND of the Vestavia Hills Library you will meet new people and become a part of the community. Friends help keep the community connected through a monthly newsletter and the organizing of special events and programs for the Library in the Forest. Your participation can help you learn new skills through community outreach planning, marketing, and fundraising.

Membership Fees

The Friends need your support. Join and help Library in the Forest be the best it can be! Annual membership is $15 per individual or $20 per couple. Donations are also accepted, greatly appreciated and tax deductible!


PALS

PALS (People Affecting Library Success) is a group of parents committed to supporting the Children's Department of the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest through volunteer and monetary support. PALS holds a number of large and small fundraisers each year and assists with a variety of library events. Money raised by PALS goes directly to support programming and to purchase books and materials for the department. Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting the Children's Department. New members are invited to join each January. Please contact a member of PALS or the Children's Department staff if you are interested in joining.
