The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library is an active group of men and women dedicated to the importance of the Library to the people of Vestavia Hills. Friends are community members who believe that a good library is essential to the cultural, educational and economic well-being of Vestavia Hills.

Mission Statement 

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library is a non-profit group of citizens who work together to assist the Board of Trustees and the Library Director; to promote increased knowledge of the functions, resources, services and needs of the Library; to stimulate volunteer service for the Library; to encourage gifts and memorials for the Library; to help the Library procure funds for items that are not included in the regular budget and to sponsor cultural and related programs for the community.

Friends Used Book Store

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library Used Book Store, located in the library behind the Mezzanine, offers a large selection of fiction, non-fiction (cooking, travel, religion, textbooks, etc.), children’s books, records, paperbacks, and magazines. The store also has a large assortment of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazines sorted by year.

Arrangements can be made at the desk to have large donations of material picked up at your home.

The Used Book Store is open the same hours as the library. Come in and browse. All proceeds of sales benefit the library.

Membership

When you become a Friend of the Vestavia Hills Library you will: meet new people and become involved in the community, receive the Friends Newsletter, enjoy interesting monthly programs and special events. You can learn new skills by helping us raise money, do community outreach, publish the newsletter, and put on programs and events.

The Friends need your support. Join the Friends and help our Library be the best it can be. 

Annual membership dues are $15.00 per individual and $20.00 per couple. Larger donations are greatly appreciated and all donations are tax deductible.
