The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Public Library is a support group that welcomes anyone who is interested in joining us.
- Dues are $15 annually per person or $20 for a couple.
- We meet monthly on the 4th Thursday, September through May, with the following exceptions: November 19th and December 10, 2009.
- Proceedings begin at 10:00 A.M. in the Library meeting room with refreshments followed by a program. However, the May meeting is a luncheon that begins at 11:30.
The Friends’ Board has voted to discontinue our monthly newsletter because of the prohibitive cost of preparation, paper, copying, and mailing; moreover, we have been repeating Library news that was available at three other sources. Instead, a bulletin will be mailed to members before September with news of the Friends’ September and October activities. Subsequently, the Friends can access news :
1. In the Mayor’s newsletter
2. At the Library’s website.
3. At the circulation desk (along with information on the Library’s programs).
We look forward to a great year of interesting programs as construction of our new Library progresses. Please call me if you have any questions on our activities.
Best,
Cynthia Gravlee

Director’s MessageGood day Friends,There are so many great things happening at your Vestavia Hills Public Library! The 40 For 40 fundraising initiative has been a huge success. To date, we have raised over $5000! This fundraiser will continue as we offer all of Vestavia Hills an opportunity to give to our new library. Special thanks to the many volunteers who have given time, energy and money to this worthwhile cause. Thank you also for celebrating our 40th Anniversary with us. The day was filled with Friends and patrons reminiscing about our great library. The cake and punch weren’t bad either! Thanks again Friends of the Library for all you do! Taneisha K. Young, Director
